Fix Screen Sharing Not Working After macOS Catalina Update

Restart your Mac

Most of the time a simple restart fixes a lot of issues on your Mac. Go to the Apple menu in the upper left corner of your Mac screen and select Restart.

Force Quit Screen Sharing App

Press Option, Command, and Esc key together on your keyboard. You can also go to the Apple Menu in the upper-left corner of your screen and select Force Quit.

Choose the app in the Force Quit window and then click Force Quit.

Allow the Apps to Record the Content of Your Screen

  • Go to the Apple Menu > Select System Preferences > Security & Privacy. Select the Privacy tab on the top.
  • Scroll down on the left-hand side of the screen and select Screen Recording.
  • Check the box next to the app with which you facing the issue. (For Google Hangouts check the Chrome icon)

Allow the Apps to Record the Content of Your Screen on Mac

In case Webex or Zoom or any other apps are not showing up in the screen recording list then open QuickTime and select a new recording. Update Screen Sharing Apps
